WEEK 2.....DAY 4

A day to see something big...........the MEYER WERFT shipyard at Papenburg(Germany) which is one of the largest of the world and is producing cruise ships for the companies live the Star cruise and the star Virgo.
We had to move out early so we were picked up at 8 am by Rtn Hemmo Bolhuis and drove straight to the shipyard. Many other rotarions also joined us for the tour.
We were made to understand the techniqe of the production of the cruise ships and also the investment that was required to make on of it.
We also had an opportunity to see a cruise ship being made and was to be finished in the next few months.
After taking a visual treat we moved to the countryside to have a lunch and then to the farm of Rtn Hemmo where he showed and explaind the various methods of farming that are being practiced in the country.there were also about 700 sheeps at the farm house which couls even be seen around at the dykes.
Late in the evening we moved to the residence of Nelleke and Bart who are friends of Hemmo for dinner. We had an opportunity to see the horses at his farm and also a beutiful garden where we had lots of pictures done.
It was quite late whwn we returned to our host families ....but it was a great day.
